I had a million problems with my book. I had a jumble of scenes and strands and feelings, but I couldn’t see how the story needed to flow or how to infuse it with my personality.

Jami helped me see these strands as a story, not a chronology. She also really dug deep and helped me find not just the physical narrative of my material, but its soul.

As a result, I landed an agent who believed in me and a contract with a publisher that likewise believed in me. The book and resulting international publicity tour led me to found and begin an entirely new career with Second Nurture, a non-profit that promotes fostering and adoption from foster care.
