When I first came to Jami, I was struggling to figure out what my story would or could be.
Through developmental editing, Jami figured out the underlying structure — and showed me how my story was bigger than just about moving alone to a foreign country. We then embarked on an intensive three-month project to flesh out and finish the book. It was the best decision! Jami is an amazing teacher filled with humor, intelligence and experience. Her “tough love” taught me how to use words differently to show what I wanted the reader to feel. She pushed me to go as deeply as I could.
I could never have written and published “A Place Called Grace” without Jami’s help. She never let me give up! I not only learned to be a better writer; I learned much about myself. I still hear her voice guiding me whenever I write.
I now have a memoir I am proud of, along with favorable reviews, book signings, and podcast interviews. On to the next book!
